... on top of Uluru!
Our diary entry dated 30.04.07:
Dear Diary,
Today, 30th destination AYERS ROCKS! OK!
This morning we woke up at 5:00 am ➔ pretty hard for everyone! Breakfast for 15 min and we left the camp at about 5:45 am. 15 min to go to the rock, it was dark and when we could only see the dark shape of the rock. We stayed on the site almost 1 hour to admire the sunrise and then we splited into two groups.
➔ (lazy ones) walk around the rock for about 2 hours 30!
➔ (determined ones) climb the rock!
(but in the Aboriginal culture, the rock is a spiritual site and we shouldn't climb it!)

Our diary entry dated 29.04.07:
Dear Diary,
Today was a very tiring, but fun day! We had to wake up really early (which is a very hard thing for everybody but very worth it) =)
We had our always delicious breakfast earlier at 6:00 and left Coober Pedy at 7:00 for a long trip that would take us to the biggest rock of the world: AYERS ROCK! That was definitely one of the things that made everybody excited!
Although it was very tiring because we drove the whole day, it was nice because we stopped in Marla Bore for morning tea at 10:00 and in Eridunda for lunch at 1:30 pm, besides, even being on the bus, it is always amazing being together with everybody, we have so much fun talking, listening to music, playing cards (we played a lot of UNO today which was really good, although almost all the players seemed to be cheating the whole game!) and even watching movies!

... in Broken Hill
Our diary entry dated 25.04.07:
Dear Diary,
Anzac Day today. Only 80 km left before we hit Broken Hill. I had a pretty bad night in the bus. My whole legs are dead. I can't receive an answer from them anymore. Yesterday I played EUCHRE + bataille corse + bataille normale with Sidney. It was awesome especially when we had both the same cards which is bataille (fight) and more excellent when we had again the same cards which is double bataille. After midnight, we decided to go to bed.

... in Sydney!
Our diary entry dated 23.04.07:
At about 8AM we left to go into Sydney. We took the Manly ferry from Manly to Circular Quay. It was a rainy day and a little cold. In Circular Quay we had an hour to split up and visit the Opera House, and whatever else we wanted to see. Then, we met up at the Opera House and had lunch under a random bridge (very classy). We had to spend lots of time there because the bus was being fixed. We had another hour to go see around Sydney, some people went to the rocks and others just chilled in the bus.
Finally, after the bus was fixed, we headed out to Canberra with a comfort stop at Marulan. At around 1PM we arrived in Canberra, had dinner at 1:45PM and then headed out to the Telstra tower.
We forgot to add that some people played UNO, everyone won a game except for Marie. Also, on the bus, we named our Mascot, Schnitzel.
In the night we went to Telstra Tower which had a really great view of Canberra.
Kelly.
Our second entry from the same day:
I was playing with Calle at volleyball, stuck in the back exit. The ball fell off on the bottom near the toilet door and I bent over to pick it up and when I stood back up I heard my pants cracking. Now I have a big hole in my jeans on my bum. Oh yeah, safari was the best experience for my pants.
P.S. The mascot's real name is actually Paddington.
Thank you for all that fun I have everyday with you even if I have to scarify my only pants (oh yeah, my ONLY PANTS!!!)
P.S. #2 We found with Sidney a way to go clubbing for free, under 18, without alcohol, without music and IN the bus. Call us for more information DVD promotion available.
Biizzz lots of love Clémentine
P.S. #3 I love you Vaness. You can be the first in the shower tonight.
Our third entry from the same day:
I played with Dennis and Clemens today.

... In a bus!
Our diary entry dated 22.04.07:
This morning the bus departed from the Gold Coast Transit Centre in Surfers Paradise a bit later than the planned time which was 4AM... early!
Next, we arrived in Ballina around 6:10AM and picked up a small group of kids. At around 7:30AM we all stopped at McDonalds in Grafton for Brekkie and to pick up other students. By 9:30AM we were in Coffs Harbour and 11:30 at Port Macquarie. Then lunch was at Taree where the last group of kids were picked up and we headed for the highway.
Running | A #20KTraining update
19 April 2015 • running
Hello mates! I hope you have been enjoying the sun as much as I did last week. Taking a break from the Internet and the blogging world feels very good once in a while.
But don't be sad anymore, I'm getting your much needed Ravacholle fix back on your screens with my fourth training update. As you remember from my first post, I'm training for the Brussels 20KM that will take place in roughly a month. I already wrote two updates about my training plan: parts two and three.

Blog Design | Part One: Make a font of your handwriting
10 April 2015 • howto
As you may have seen, I made some changes on the design of my blog. At the beginning, I was excited to play with html and the awesome tutorials I've had found to eliminate the ugly that Blogger.com imagined for us, newbies. I have since then applied many tutos on my layout and I wasn't really going to explain anything until I discovered how to transform my own handwriting into a font!
But before I get lost into technical details, walk back down memory lane with me when the blog looked like this:
I wanted something simple and elegant. Black and white translates that very well, but not exactly my version of it. I also had many difficulties changing the date header on the Blogger theme I had chosen so I was stuck with this very ugly left sided round date that was messing up with all my photos.
My cat | To my beloved cat, Snoopy
7 April 2015 • personal
April 2013 was the last month I took pictures of my beloved cat Snoopy with my phone. It has then been two years since my best furry friend disappeared from my world (he still might be somewhere else with another family, who knows?)
Everyone's got a Snoopy. Either it is a rabbit, dog or guinea pig, we all had (or have) a beloved pet. We've had a few cats in our family growing up (and a dog), but Snoopy is actually the only cat we will ever remember.
Snoopy arrived unannounced, one day of 2003, when my neighbour (a cat lady with multiple cats living under her roof as her children) found three ginger kitties on the path next to her garden. Already hosting too many feline roommates, she proposed that we should keep one. My parents were very reluctant, as my mother hates all kind of animals in the house and my dad always agrees with her, plus he's supposed to be allergic to cat hair.
In the end, you guessed it, they gave in. Who really can resist that little ball of fur? Someone who's not human, I think.
Home Stalking #5 | Limestone, Brooklyn
6 April 2015 • stalking
I am a huge fan of Stephanie at Brooklyn Limestone so I am sharing her home with you. Her style is not mine as you will see, but I love how elegant and feminine her interior is. She enjoys decorating, entertaining and traveling so I would highly recommend a visit to her blog. She started it by documenting the renovation of her limestone in Brooklyn.
British Crush | Original British Drama
3 April 2015 • crush
I LOVE the UK, the Queen, the scones, the telly, the tea, the shops, the humour, the different accents, well... you guessed it pretty much everything about the British culture. Hence the title of this series 'British Crush' where I will talk about something that I love about the country and its lifestyle.
Who doesn't love a good show? The BBC has practically never disappointed me. Here are a few of my favourite dramas that aired on BBC One or Two. The list of dramas that the BBC created is very long and so is my To-Watch list. If you have any recommendations of awesome shows that I still haven't got around to see, feel free to share them with me!
The Office | Absolutely amazing mockumentary about the daily life of an office somewhere in a boring industrial town that aired as a mini series of three seasons between 2001 and 2003. The manager David Brent is the most perfect boss you can ever wish for. Except you shouldn't. He is the worst. The show is both hilarious and emotional and from love stories to disgusting jokes, you certainly will end up weeping at the finale. Like I did. Oh my! I loved that show.
List | My camping kit
1 April 2015 • list
I am aware this post doesn't concern all of you my dear readers, so skip it if you're not interested, I won't hold it against you.
Today, many camping sites (that we call campings for short in French) open to start the season. I am quite excited as this summer, the boyfriend and I are heading to France for ten days of relaxation in a tent. I hear you laugh about that, but I do associate relaxing vacation with camping. My parents took us every summer, me and my sisters, on three-weeks long holidays either in France or Italy so I guess that's why I love camping so much. Even my parents' parents took their kids camping, so it might be some sort of tradition I will have to perpetuate with my offspring someday.
Last year, I made myself a "camping kit". My parents taught me very well as they are the perfect campers - meaning they're very organized and so well equipped, it looks like they bring their home with them every time. They even own a caravan (sort of mobile home but not a car, you attach it to your car and drive around before landing in any campsite of your liking). I think this is too much for me. I like the simplicity of it. I don't want to cook fancy meals and do heaps of washing up. I don't want to spend days of packing and unpacking before and after a trip, so I tried to keep my kit as minimal as I could.
I went to Decathlon, because it is the best shop to find affordable camping equipment (as well as lots of sport clothing/accessories) in Belgium and in France. You see everyone having the same tents and camping furniture everywhere you camp in France, it's quite funny.
